Fresh Eyes #1 — Fashion Neurosis by Bella Freud

Fresh Eyes #1 — Fashion Neurosis by Bella Freud

Creative thinking doesn’t start with a client need—and it doesn’t stop at the boundaries of your industry. Not everything that inspires us fits neatly into a pitch deck—or even relates to what we do. And that’s exactly the point.

FRESH EYES is our way of sharing people, projects, ideas, and creations that caught our attention for being sharp, strange, joyful, rigorous, or simply different.

This series is a reflection of the curiosity and taste that shape our own practice at Finis Studio.

Sometimes the best way to sharpen your thinking is to listen to something completely unrelated.

Startups move fast. Founders are often swimming in pitch decks, metrics, and product updates. But taking 45 minutes to sit with something that has nothing to do with your sprint cycle can offer surprising returns.

That’s what we found in Fashion Neurosis, a podcast hosted by fashion designer Bella Freud, where she invites guests—from cultural icons to quiet thinkers—into an unexpectedly intimate space to talk style, identity, and everything in between.

With her psychoanalyst family legacy (yes—that Freud family) and her own deep roots in fashion, Bella brings a rare blend of curiosity, personal storytelling, and emotional nuance to each episode. What starts with clothes quickly expands into discussions on culture, insecurity, relationships, and how we present ourselves to the world.

We admire this podcast not because it’s “useful” in the business sense, but because it’s beautifully human. It reminds us that creative clarity often comes from unexpected places—and that what we wear, say, or build are all versions of the same thing: how we show up in the world.

We also have to mention that many of her guests are people who don’t usually give so intimate interviews, so getting them to lie down on a sofa with a camera really close to their face, it’s already an achievement. Then, hearing their thoughts and feelings, it’s a gift many times.

It’s not business content. And that’s the point.

It reminded us that the way we present ourselves—visually, emotionally, strategically—is always part of the story.
